How Long is the Medical Valid For?

The validity of a Fit to Work Abroad Medical is ultimately determined by your specific employer and the immigration laws of your destination country. However, as a general rule, most international organizations and embassies require the medical certificate to be no older than 3 to 6 months at the time of your visa application or employment start date.

How fast can I get my Fit to Work Abroad certificate?

In most cases, you will receive your signed and stamped certificate on the exact same day as your appointment. If your employer requires additional blood tests or X-rays, the results typically take a few working days to process, after which your final paperwork is immediately issued.
Our standard £75 medical covers the comprehensive physical examination. If your employer’s form mandates specific extras (such as an HIV test, Hepatitis screening, or a TB Chest X-ray), our GMC-registered doctors can arrange all necessary lab diagnostics for an additional, fully transparent fee.
This depends entirely on the country you are relocating to. Some nations require your medical certificate to be legally authenticated by the UK Government. If you need an Apostille, Midland Medical Group offers a dedicated fast-track legalisation service for £70 per document. You can purchase the Apostille service here.
Yes. Many international companies and foreign governments have their own specific paperwork. Simply bring the blank form to your appointment, and our doctors will complete, sign, and apply our official clinic stamp to it. If they do not provide a form, we will issue our standard, universally accepted Midland Medical Group certificate.
A pre-existing condition does not automatically mean you fail the medical. Our doctors are there to accurately report your current clinical health. If a minor issue is identified (like elevated blood pressure), the doctor will discuss it with you. As long as the condition is safely managed and doesn’t impede your job duties, many overseas employers will still clear you for work.
