The Saudi Arabia Visa Medical is part of the application process for anyone applying for an Employment Visa or Residency permit (Iqama). It is required to ensure that you are free of infectious and chronic diseases.

Who can apply?
UK professionals (aged 22–60) moving for sponsored employment, along with their spouses and dependents. It is a mandatory prerequisite for the visa to be issued by the Saudi Embassy in London.

A medical is mandatory for all Work/Employment Visas and Residency Permits (Iqama). It is not required for the Tourist eVisa or the Electronic Visa Waiver (EVW), though all visitors should ensure they have the required vaccinations (such as Meningitis ACWY) if attending Hajj or Umrah.

When should I book my medical for Saudi Arabia?

We recommend booking your medical 6–8 weeks before your intended flight. This allows enough time for the complex lab results to return and, crucially, for the original documents to be sent for legalisation (Apostille) by the FCDO and the Saudi Embassy, which can take several weeks.

How long does the appointment take and when do I get results for Saudi Arabia?

The clinic appointment takes approximately 60 minutes due to the volume of tests. Because of the specialist screening for tropical diseases (Malaria/Bilharzia), final results and the completed report are typically ready within 5 working days.

Is Saudi Arabia now using the 'Wafid' system in the UK?

Yes. For most work and residency visas, you must book your appointment via the Wafid (formerly GAMCA) portal. We are experienced in handling the specific laboratory requirements that the Saudi Embassy demands.

What infectious diseases are screened for Saudi visas?
