HGV Medical in Birmingham
To complete a HGV/PCV medical in Birmingham you will need to see a qualified GP who will carry out a full assessment to ensure you are medically fit to drive. The assessment will be made up of two parts, including an interview about your physical and medical health and a full analysis of your medical history. It will also be required to complete a D4 HGV medical form and provide this at the assessment for the GP to review.
The full assessment will include testing for diabetes, neurological disorders, sleep disorders, cardiac, substance abuse and vision.
A HGV/PVC medical will need to be completed before obtaining a licence to drive an HGV for the first time and for each time a licence is renewed. The medical will generally take up to an hour and the results will be provided at the end of the assessment.
